Translink operate a number of services to promote tourism in rural areas. The ‘Access by Bus to the Countryside’ scheme supported by the Rural Transport Fund includes the following services. The pdfs also contain timetables for each service.
- Kilkeel Rambler (Adobe PDF document 455kb) - The Kilkeel Rambler Service 407 meanders through the gentle rolling hills of the Mournes - a keen favourite with ramblers at all levels.
- Sperrin Rambler (Adobe PDF document 603kb) – Southeast of Derry, the Sperrin Mountains rise up out of County Tyrone reaching their highest point at Sawel. Depart 1010 Magherafelt Union Road on the Sperrin Rambler 403 Service. Arrive 1100 Cranagh / Heritage Centre.
- Antrim Coaster Service (Adobe PDF document 214kb) – use this 'award winning' service and see the Antrim Coast your way. Valid from Monday 28th April 2008 until further notice.
- Causeway Rambler (Adobe PDF document 518kb) - There’s so much to do and see and this award winning rambler is the ideal choice. Why not buy a £4.30 ‘ALL DAY RAMBLER’ Ticket and hop on and off the Rambler as you like, visting all the attractions along the route.
- South Down Rambler (Adobe PDF document 480kb) - The South Down Rambler Service 408 provides a great opportunity to plan your own sightseeing tour. You can make the experience as exhilarating or as relaxing as you like.
- Mourne Rambler (Adobe PDF document 356kb) - North and West from Newcastle lie the rolling foothills of the Mournes, the highest mountains in Northern Ireland. Join us on the ‘Mourne Rambler’ and experience the unspoilt beauty of the mountains of Mourne, the land of Narnia as described by C.S. Lewis.
These services are ideal for tourists and locals alike who want to explore some of Northern Ireland’s most spectacular scenic areas by foot. Rambler services set down and pick up at key locations in these regions as well as conveying passengers to main bus stations.
