Ensuring prompt departure l Purchasing tickets l Departure of Enterprise trains
Ensuring prompt departure
To ensure the prompt departure of trains from main stations, customers are asked to:
- arrive at the station in good time,
- purchase the appropriate ticket before going to the barrier and
- board the train promptly.

^TOP
Purchasing tickets
- Customers boarding at main stations will not be permitted to pass the ticket barrier or board any train without first purchasing a valid ticket for their journey.
- Weekly and Monthly Ticket holders can purchase their tickets up to 4 days in advance of the expiry date of their current ticket. By doing this you can avoid the queues on Monday mornings and at the start of the month.
- Please be aware that once the train doors have closed station staff have no way of gaining access to the train and the ticket barriers will be closed.
- To allow all passengers to board the train safely, ticket barriers at main stations will close 1 minute prior to departure time.

Enterprise Trains
To ensure prompt departure of Enterprise trains:
- Last ticket sales will be sold five minutes before advertised departure time of train from platform.
- Ticket barriers will close two minutes before train departure.
Thank you for travelling with NI Railways and assisting us to improve the punctuality of rail services.
