From 30 June 2008, Ulsterbus passengers in the Lisburn area are set to benefit from the opening of a new fully accessible Buscentre.
In line with the opening, local bus services including all Belfast bound services will depart from the new buscentre located opposite Lisburn Square shopping centre. A new Lisburn area timetable is now available.
Local Ulsterbus Manager Jim McCauley said, “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers in Lisburn this new facility which will provide greater levels of comfort, convenience and accessibility.
“We have also taken this opportunity to improve our local bus services in order to make the network easier to use. These include the use of easy to use clock-face city service timetables and improved passenger information with simple colour coded route maps.
“All our City services will be operated with low floor vehicles providing easy access for all our users and we would remind our passengers that a £1.70 day ticket is available for unlimited travel on these city services. In addition, new modern bus stops with improved passenger information have also been introduced.
“Public transport has a significant contribution to make towards delivering a modern, healthy and efficient city and as such this new Buscentre represents an important investment for the City of Lisburn. We hope that the opening of the facility together with the service enhancements will be welcomed by the local community and encourage even more people to choose the bus as the easy option”.
