Enniskillen Shoppers Save Money on Christmas Shopping- By Taking the Bus!

17 December 2006

As Enniskillen shoppers get ready to hit the local shops this Christmas, Translink is reminding them that one thing they don’t have to spend a fortune on is public transport!

For just £1.20 for adults and 60p for children, passengers can enjoy unlimited, all-day travel on Ulsterbus Enniskillen town services, enabling them to shop until they drop across the town over the festive period.

This unbeatable price offer was introduced in November as part of Translink’s wide-ranging Strategic Review of local Ulsterbus services and will run until 31 January 2007.  In addition, Smartlink travel cards are available free of charge until the end of January 2007 meaning passengers pay only for their journeys, saving the initial £1.50 cost of the card.

Other key improvements introduced under the Strategic Review, aimed at supporting Enniskillen’s retail strength and wider business and community needs, include an enhanced and extended Town Service timetable; six new direct Goldline Express services between Enniskillen and Belfast; easier connections with other regional and county Ulsterbus and Goldline services; and simplified passenger information systems.

“Enniskillen is increasingly recognised as one of the province’s best shopping towns and we are delighted to support local retailers – and shoppers – with enhanced bus services and great value ticket offers over the Christmas period,” said Local Ulsterbus District Manager, Sean Falls.  “We wish our valued local passengers, traders and wider community, a happy and prosperous Christmas and New Year.”
