Final Call for Oriental masterpieces

8 December 2005

-Translink urges Schools to get their Ulster in Bloom entries in-

Translink has made a final call to schools across Northern Ireland to get their entries in before the Ulster in Bloom Art Competition closing date next Monday 19th December.

Following on from its huge success over the last four years the 2005 art competition is proving extremely popular with over 40 schools registered and entries flooding in from across the province.

The theme of the fifth Ulster in Bloom Schools’ art competition is Oriental art and Translink has encouraged pupils and teachers to use examples like Japanese artist Hokusai for inspiration.

Translink’s Lynda Shannon urged all those taking part to get their entries in the post.

“With the closing date set for Monday 19th December, there is still time for schools to get their entries in.  All the winning entries will be exhibited on the Translink website for all our visitors to appreciate and enjoy, so it is worth popping them in the post as soon as possible,” she said.

The Ulster in Bloom School’s Art competition encourages key stage 3 students to examine and explore the environmental motivation behind Ulster in Bloom, which has been running now for over a quarter of a century across Northern Ireland.

All entries should clearly display the pupil’s name, school and year group and should be posted by Monday 19th December to Morrow Communications, Hanwood House, Pavilions Office Park, Kinnegar Drive, Holywood, BT18 9JQ.

Further information is available by contacting Morrow Communications on 028 9039 3837 or by logging onto www.translink.co.uk.

Ends.
