05 October 2005:
A new and improved full timetabled rail service between Belfast and Carrickfergus will be introduced on October 10th 2005 after the on time completion of major engineering work. Work will continue between Carrickfergus and Whitehead from then to the end of December and passengers can look forward to the reintroduction of full services from Larne from the beginning of 2006.
The reintroduction of these services represents a further step in our policy of introducing ‘clock face’ regularity to our new timetables.
Timetables have also been amended slightly on the Portadown-Belfast section of our new “Corridor” operation to accommodate ongoing works in the Moira and Lisburn area. The expected improvements in service punctuality will support the continuing passenger numbers growth on this busy commuter corridor.
The new rail timetables are available from local rail and bus stations. For further information, passengers can call 028 90 66 66 30 or click www.translink.co.uk.
