24 teams from all over Ireland are taking part in the one day Tournament; made all the more important as the games will be used as a precursor to selecting the Irish National Squad for the 2005 Homeless World Cup, which will be held in Edinburgh in July (05).

Richard Hudson; Translink’s District Manager for the Europa said; “We fully support the work of the Simon Community, so when they approached us to provide transport for the only team representing the North in an all Ireland tournament; we said yes!  This is also a once in a life time opportunity for some of the lucky or should I say talented players who could be selected for the Irish National Squad in the Homeless World Cup, so were are pleased for them and wish them every success.”

Paul Collins our Director of Fundraising for the Simon Community said; "I am delighted that Translink have agreed to support Simon Community Northern Irelands’ involvement in this competition as it offers an ideal opportunity for local homeless people to become involved in a cross-border recreational initiative."

*Tournament Named after two young homeless men who died while sleeping rough in Dublin.
